MY NZ-500 RESTORATION -Stripping- |
With all themotorbike disassembled (except the engine), I can write down the pieces that I need (surely that I leave a lot of them) and then with the list I will go to buy them in the fairs and in different webs that I have found by the network. Between the pieces that I am going to buy, of course there are all the rubbers , the sticks, tires, and all the gaskets of the motor. More things will go out as I will disassembe and mount everything. I hope to have the NZ finished for 2004 Christmas, but it does not matter to me if it delays, because this is my hobby, and not a work. Eduardo. |

I have begun to strip the tankt
and the mudguards, when i will finish I will take them to paint. I will
paint myself the rest of the pieces.
Here you can see the tank, in the half and at the end. |
You can observe that the tank was painted totally, from factory it had a chromed strip, this strip went out when stripping it, also the threads in gilded colour. They had to paint all the tank because of a blow and because the chromium plating was disappearing in some sites, and if you look closely you can see as it appears the copperplating underneath the old chromium plating. Once cleaned the tank I will bring it to chrome, later to be painted. |
Here you can see the rear
mudguard.
This mudguard was squashed from
behind, the painter will have to do some work.
I have bought the tires, they are Cheng Shin 3.50x19 , it is the cheapest tire I have found. |
This first 2004 weekend, I have disassembled the wheels. There are 2
kinds of spokes as you can see.
I have bought a electrical wire kit and a gasket set, both in Ebay Germany. |
